For a long time, glass skin felt more like an aesthetic concept than a realistic goal. Beautiful, luminous, perfectly smooth skin — admired mostly through screens and close-ups. I appreciated the look, but I didn’t fully believe in it. Not for my skin, at least.
I’ve struggled with visible pores, uneven texture, fine lines, and an overall lack of clarity in my complexion. Nothing extreme, but persistent enough to make my skin feel like it was always one step away from looking truly healthy. No single product ever fixed it. And that, I’ve learned, is exactly the point.
What brought me the closest possible version of glass skin wasn’t a miracle serum — it was time, consistency, and a thoughtfully built routine.
Glass Skin Is a Process, Not a Shortcut
The biggest misconception about glass skin is that it’s about perfection. It isn’t. It’s about balance — hydration, barrier health, gentle renewal, and patience.
Once I stopped over-treating my skin and started supporting it instead, everything changed. Texture softened. Pores appeared less visible. My skin began reflecting light in a way that looked natural — calm, plump, and healthy rather than shiny.
My Evening Routine: Where the Real Work Happens
The foundation of my routine is proper cleansing, especially because daily SPF is non-negotiable.
I swear by the double cleanse method. I start with an oil cleanser — Anua Heartleaf Pore Control Cleansing Oil — followed by micellar water, specifically Bioderma Sensibio H2O. This combination removes makeup, SPF, and impurities thoroughly yet gently. Clean skin is the base of everything that follows.
After cleansing, I apply COSRX The 6 Peptide Skin Booster Serum, which preps the skin beautifully. On some evenings, I add Snail Mucin, which has been a quiet hero in my routine. It helps calm stressed skin, supports elasticity, and made a noticeable difference in my journey toward glass skin.
For pigmentation and uneven tone, I use Skin Discoloration + Dark Spot Correcting Serum, which has helped refine and brighten my complexion over time.
During winter, when the air is dry, I always reach for Guerlain Double R Renew & Repair Advanced Serum. It delivers instant radiance and a lifting, plumping effect that makes the skin feel nourished, smooth, and visibly healthier. There’s something incredibly luxurious — and effective — about this step. My skin simply drinks it in.
I finish with a retinol cream — AlphaRet Overnight Cream — which leaves my skin incredibly smooth and refined by morning. Recently, I’ve also incorporated tretinoin, prescribed by my dermatologist. It’s a powerful step that requires respect and patience, but it has elevated my results significantly.

Morning Routine: Light, Bright, Protected
In the morning, I keep things purposeful. I start with Vitamin C — C E Ferulic® with 15% L-Ascorbic Acid by SkinCeuticals — for brightness, antioxidant protection, and overall skin quality.
Next comes Liquid Peptides Advanced MP by Medik8, followed by a hydrating cream and, always, SPF. Sun protection is essential — glass skin without protection simply doesn’t last.
Exfoliation: Less, But Better
I exfoliate three times a week, and on those evenings I skip retinol entirely. My go-to is Glycolic 10 Renew Overnight by SkinCeuticals — effective, refining, and transformative when used consistently, not excessively.
Why Glass Skin Actually Works
Because it’s not about trends. It’s about commitment.
With this routine — and real consistency — I’ve seen visible, lasting improvement in my skin. Pores appear refined, texture is smoother, tone more even, and the skin itself looks calm and luminous. Results don’t come overnight, but they do come with patience.
Beyond skincare, I also regularly invest in microneedling and skin booster treatments, which support everything I do at home. But that deserves its own conversation — and its own blog post.
Stay tuned.
Glass skin isn’t an illusion. It’s the result of respecting your skin, giving it time, and choosing intention over impulse. And when it finally shows — it feels just as beautiful as it looks. ✨
